The Toledo State Hospital Cemetery Reclamation Project

Today 2,000 people rest forgotten in graves that go unnoticed by all who pass; they are located in two cemeteries that were in use from 1888 to 1973. No signs or postings identify the property as a cemetery or sacred ground—but a group of mental health activists are determined to change that. NAMI is the lead agency in this advocacy effort.
