For family members, consumers, significant others and friends of people with mental illness. Held every Wednesday, 6 - 7:30 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church New Life Center (The House of Bread Ministries), 1430 West Bancroft Street. Consumers are welcome the 1st Wednesday of each month. The purpose of this program is to help children understand and cope with their own, or a love one's emotional/mental and/or behavioral disorder by providing psycho-education, per support and one-to-one mentoring with a caring adult role model. This is a collaborative effort between Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Northwestern Ohio and NAMI of Greater Toledo. Contact Josh Halsenbalg, Program Coordinator, NAMI at 419-243-1119. Please note that the NAMICAN caregiver support group and MINDWORKS support group, for children 4-17, are now being offered at the same time as Positive Connections. Please take advantage of this support group even if you or your child is not participating with Positive Connections. Attendance at NAMICAN is required for your child/siblings to attend MindWorks.

NAMICAN is an ongoing support group for caregivers of children (4-17), who are living with an emotional, mental and/or behavioral disorder. MINDWORKSis an ongoing support group for children, (4-17), who are living with an emotional, mental and/or behavioral disorder within their family. Both groups will occur every Thursday evening, 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the NAMI office; 2753 West Central Avenue (in the Neighborhood Properties Bldg). It is essential that parents/caregivers attend NAMI-CAN Support group while their child(ren) attends MINDWORKS, held at the same time and location.

A support group for adults with a mental illness regardless of their diagnosis. All are led by trained individuals who are also in recovery- people who understand the challenges we face.
